Festa del Limone in Scillichenti, part of the municipality of Acireale (CT) from 18 to 20 August 2017.

Scillichenti is a fraction of the town of Acireale, in the province of Catania, from which it is about 6 kilometers. The hamlet, located north of Acireale on the road leading to Riposto, is an expanding residential center nestled among citrus groves. According to tradition, the name of the locality derives from the Sicilian word sciddicari (slipping) with reference to the lava rocks that caused frequent falls to donkeys and mules that were used for the transport of agricultural products. The current church dates back to 1912; It was elevated to a parish in 1932 and is dedicated to the Madonna of Pompeii. The center in 2002 was hit by the so-called earthquake of Santa Venerina and reported several damages.
